Physical Safety
Be very clear if someone touches you in a way that you do not like. This is especially true if they touch you in a sexual way. Tell them, “STOP!” If they do not stop, you should get away from them. Call someone to help you. TELL SOMEONE YOU TRUST RIGHT AWAY!

Close Friends and Not-So-Close Friends
Rivka did a Circle of Friends exercise. This helped her see which people were in her closest circle It helped her see which were further out. She decided that she would behave a little more formally with those not in her close circle. She would save hugs for close friends and family.

ListenWhat is “Safe Touch”?
Touching one another can be hard for people. It can be hard to decide what is right. This is especially true if we do not know the other person really well.
Sometimes one person is very comfortable with hugs and physical touch and another is not. You cannot know for certain. It is best to be respectful. It is best to expect others to be respectful of you. Shaking hands is almost always okay. Some people do not like any more touch than that. Other people share a hug. Sometimes they lean forward so they do not put their bodies against each other. If you are not sure, do not touch other people.
Talk to a family member, teacher or friend about what is appropriate touch. Talk about what is inappropriate touch. This will help you know when someone is touching you in a way they should not. It will help you not to touch others in a way that might upset them
